The restaurant for a high-end degustation venue was a little disappointing. My partner had the medley of mushrooms and found these to be underwhelming. My replacement dish of cauliflower was delicious, however. The duck should have had a crispy top, but it was just a layer of fat. It would have been nice for the main beef to have been served with some greens. The fig ice cream should have been renamed to Fig Soup as the ice cream was fully melted. The dishes came out too quickly, i.e., we got the snacks at the beginning, and before I could even take a mouthful, another waiter came over and pushed my plate back and put down the first course. This was very odd. One waiter had a very strong accent, and we had no idea what he was saying when he described the dishes. Also very odd was that there were heaps of staff but not a single female employee, which seemed peculiar to me. Nice dinner, but definitely room for improvement, especially when catering to the high-end market.

5 star dining experience. I liked that they offered a pescatarian course menu which worked great as I am not a big beef eater and my husband is not a fish eater so we could each get what we want. Food was just divine and cooked perfectly. The bread came with normal and Vegemite butter which mellows the taste for me. The service was also top notch. I had : Kingfish sashimi | White ponzu | Radish | Yuzu ice Toothfish | Ginger Dashi | Abalone King George whiting l Butter kombu sauce l Shiso Fresh fig ice cream l Fresh fig l Honey espuma And the other half had different second and third course, being Hay smoked duck | Plum | Turnip Wagyu brisket l Black Angus tenderloin l Scallop l Pearl onion

Food was good and the setting was excellent. Unfortunately service was a let down. We had to follow up the waiter to place order for the drinks. One of the pairing was incorrect and had to be pointed out to the sommelier. Glasses weren’t topped up and left empty for ages. The fish on the menu was swapped without prior confirmation with the guests. They offered a complimentary drinks at the end but never bothered to follow through with a drinks menu. Again, had to be requested. Too many service gaps.

An absolute must for special celebrations. This is definitely a hatted restaurant, it is so clear in the food, the wine, the service and the gorgeous surroundings. We had the 4 course menu where you choose each course. All the food was great but the standouts were the marron, the pasta with truffle, the brisket and the peanut mousse dessert. If you go there try these and you won’t be disappointed. Have the Rusden Shiraz with the brisket. Wish we lived in Adelaide so we could go more often!
