So disappointed in the food. Been coming here for ages and the food and service has been great but recent changes have not been for the better. Today I had the pork belly with bok choy and crispy potatoes. The potatoes were soft and cold, the book choy was chewy and the pork belly was overcooked and dry. My partner ordered the seniors menu and the ice cream sundae never appeared. Time to find a different local restaurant for lunch.
We are just wowed by this place. Staff were friendly, accommodating and very attentive to our daughters dietary requirements. Food was probably the best we have had in Adelaide. Place was very clean, atmosphere was welcoming.
We were very disappointed when we arrived to find that the menus that we saw online were not what was available the day we visited. The “pub classics” we saw online didn’t mention that they weren’t available in the main dining room. In fact, we thought the menu that was on offer was a bit limited. There were two “specials” but they weren’t listed anywhere. We only knew about them because one of the staff told us. Overall the “experience” was a little underwhelming. The staff tried their best. The food: 3 of us had the lamb gnocchi. It was ok. One had the garfish. It looked ok. One had the noodles with chicken. Could have done with more chicken. One had steak sandwich. Most of it was uneaten. Salt and pepper squid was edible. We won’t return. None of the meals were great!
Booked for Valentine's Day dinner over three weeks ago hoping to get a good table. Was very disappointed when we were taken to a table near the kitchen and had to listen to the chef yelling at the top of his lungs until someone complained so they turned up the music to drown him out. The music was so loud we couldn't hear each other talk. Our two meals were not brought out together so I was finished half of mine before his came out. The room has a huge divider down the middle which looks like its there to separate the members from the general public, im not sure if that's the case but either way it looks terrible. We complained as did other diners but they weren't bothered by our complaints. As locals it is very disappointing, we have been coming here for over a decade with family and friends & after tonight's experience I don't think we will bother to come here again.
